The Northern Brass Quintet, which appear by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of Music, is the latest exciting and versatile brass quintet to emerge from the RNCM. Its members come from extremely different musical backgrounds, including the Salvation Army and Chetham’s School, which contributes to their diverse and extensive repertoire. Individually, they Brass have played with groups such as the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, National Youth Brass band of Great Britain, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Black Dyke Band, the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, The Marsden Silver Prize Band, the Wingates Brass Band and toured with pop bands including the Ting Tings.
The quintet’s in-house arrangers can tailor a programme to suit any setting and the group aims to include new compositions and arrangements in performances wherever possible. The members of Northern Brass are passionate educators and are involved both individually and as group in teaching and delivering workshops in a variety of settings.
